After more than 6 years in Switzerland, he joined Deloitte in 2016 to establish Risk Advisory in Myanmar.

He has lead reviews and implementation of Management functions, developed capabilities in APAC and SEA, deployed governance concepts and developed Sustainability Risk Management (SRM) methodologies by taking into account SDG and ESG dimensions, and partnerships with the United Nations and the private sector.
Academically Rui has earned four degrees, including a BSc in Engineering, an MsBA in Services Management, a DAS in Risk Management and a CAS in Internal Audit; he is currently working towards an INSEAD Executive MBA, which he should earn in December 2020.

Elina Jani is currently the Director for Green Innovations in Malaysian Green Technology & Climate Change Centre (MGTC), executing company strategies aimed at nurturing local R&D, technologies and innovations for adoption and deployment in spurring the green economy for Malaysia. With regards to her achievements in the sector, she has been leading the development and implementation of communications, branding, and promotion strategies to build the value proposition of GreenTech Malaysia, the Nation of Malaysia in order to build stakeholder buy-in and commitment to green technology initiatives for the past 5 years.
Elina has delivered more than RM15 billion worth of potential Investments for Malaysia’s Green Technology Sector from 2016-2018 from various projects in renewable energy, energy efficiency, green buildings, low carbon mobility, waste, sustainable water and sustainable manufacturing of green products.

Dr Adrian Choo is the Chairman of FSC-Malaysia and the Responsible Forestry Manager at WWF-Malaysia. He completed his Ph.D. and undergraduate studies at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM). Adrian began his career as a researcher at UPM and his research were in the areas of bio-composite technology, wood-water relationship, and wood technology. He has authored and co-authored numerous scientific papers, as well as chapters in books. He is the inventor of several patents and a copyright.
Currently, Dr. Adrian is working on promoting how sustainable forest management can assist conservation efforts. He believes that the Earth needs us to save it from us.

Henry Chan holds the degrees Doctor of Social Sciences from the University of Helsinki, Finland and Master of Philosophy from the Institute for Advanced Studies, University of Malaya.
He is Conservation Director for WWF-Malaysia. Leading the mission “to build a future in which humans live in harmony with nature,” his responsibilities cover Peninsular Malaysia, Sabah and Sarawak, as well as marine programmes spanning the whole of the country. The conversation programmes span Wildlife, Forests and Protected Areas, Freshwater, as well as Policy and Climate Change, Education for Sustainable Development, Community Engagement and Education, Sustainable Production and Consumption, and Sustainable Financing. He joined WWF-Malaysia in May 2012 as Head of Conservation Sarawak. Over April 2015 to July 2017, Henry was seconded to be the Heart of Borneo Leader for WWF-Malaysia and WWF-Indonesia.

Dominik Güss, Ph.D., is Professor of Psychology at University of North Florida. He received his PhD in 2000 from the University of Bamberg in Germany. His research includes innovation and creativity, and the influence of culture on problem solving and dynamic decision making. His research has been funded by the National Science Foundation, a Fellowship of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, and by a Marie-Curie IIF Fellowship of the European Commission. For his research he has travelled to numerous countries. At University of North Florida, he has received awards for excellence in teaching, research, and internationalization of the campus – such as the Distinguished Professor Award, and the Delaney Presidential Professor Award. Dominik Guess has taught over 10 different classes at UNF mainly on topics such as cognition and culture, but also two study abroad courses to Europe. Together with his undergraduate students he was selected twice to represent the State of Florida and present their research on risky business decision making and on terrorism to state representatives and senators in Washington DC at the “Posters on the Hill”. He has published over 70 articles, proceedings, and book chapters; given almost 100 presentations at conferences; and is on the editorial board of several journals. Ma. Teresa Tuasonis Full Professor and Clinical Director in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program at the University of North Florida and is a Licensed Psychologist. Tes was born and raised in the Philippines and came to the United States for her Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology. She graduated from the University at Albany, State University of New York and did her internship and postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Utah. Her research interests express her advocacy as a psychologist – specifically in addressing a) social issues such as poverty and inequities, and social justice issues related to counseling minority populations (in terms of ethnicity, race, sexual orientation, and socio-economic status), b) conducting research that is respectful and appreciative of culture given our global community, specifically of the populations of developing countries such as the Philippines, (overseas workers, parenting, differentiation from family, alcoholism), and c) family, couples, child and adolescent clinical issues using the systems perspective. Because of her love for the Philippines and her emotional obligation to share what she continues to learn in the United States, she helps her country by conducting research on the Philippines’ specific concerns such as poverty’s psychological correlates, processes, and coping. Therefore, she enjoys this fulfilling opportunity to join this symposium, making the face of the poor more concrete, palpable, and hopefully within reach of alleviation efforts.

Her activism has brought her travelling throughout Canada and even on the international stage at the UN headquarters for the International day of the girl. Gam A. Shimray is a Naga from North-East India. He is a dedicated human rights activist, for almost 30 years, defending and promoting the rights of indigenous peoples. As the current Secretary-General of AIPP, he envisions to contribute in advancing the pursuit of indigenous peoples’ rights to self-determination for sustainable peace and development in Asia. He has held several important positions at the national and regional levels before he took office at AIPP. He is particular in achieving a transformational change through adoption of democratic means of collective actions and responsible Indigenous self-government. He was also involved in peace-building initiatives in India and has authored some publications relating to human rights, environmental and ethnic issues in Asia.

She has conceptualized community development work from input to policy to working at grass-roots for women, youth and overall reform of society. Jonathan Morgan is the CEO and founder of Object Matrix. Jon has a long history in grid and the clustered computing technologies, stretching back to the early 90s and including leading the largest development team on the EMC Centera product. As the founder of Object Matrix, Jon put together a team of storage technology experts, largely drawn from other storage technology companies, to realise his view of intelligent, scalable, and searchable object storage technology storage technology. Prior to Object Matrix Jon worked as the CTO in Agathos Software, Procis Software Limited and as a senior architect/consultant for Ubiquity, AT&T and Accenture. Well travelled, Jon studied grid computing at Texas Christian University and worked for 10 years in Brussels. Jon now lives in Wales and has a keen interest in rugby, football, college basketball and travel.

James Gibson is the CEO and founder of Ortana Media Group with over 20 years of broadcast industry experience. Following six years progressing through the engineering and senior management ranks at Omnibus Systems, he spent three years within broadcast delivery at RedBee Media before becoming the CTO of Re:fine (now Visual Data Media Services).
In 2012, James founded Ortana Media Group which proudly offers a wide range of products and services using its Cubix Asset Management & Orchestration platform. Designed as a disruptive technology within the MAM & orchestration space, Cubix has a highly modular architecture that is easily configurable to meet current and future workflows demands. Being integrated with over 54 technical partners “out of the box”, ensures clients can determine the right tools for the job, allowing them to concentrate on product development, service and profitability whilst we handle the integration.
James spearheaded Ortana’s development of software-oriented architectures around best of breed products and services, which has produced flexible, affordable and efficient solutions for customers’ specific requirements, whether they be all encompassing or one step in an existing workflow.
Cubix was designed from the off by James Gibson to scale across locations and cloud instances through its hybrid architecture, empowering customers to run the modules where needed, either on prem, in the cloud or a hybrid of the two. This foresight in design has been central to Ortana’s success and continuity as James and his teams have been delivering uninterrupted services to their customers and have continued to grow and prosper in 2020.

She is the Winner of Miss Malaysia Indian Tourism 2007/2008 and also awarded by The Golden Phoenix Awards for her outstanding and exemplary achievement in entrepreneurship as one of the Outstanding Women Entrepreneur 2017.
Bkay is a trained and certified BrandImage Consultant in Image Professional (CBIP) by OUM (Open University Malaysia). Bkay Nair is also a certified trainer in Accelerated Learning in Action Programme (ALIA).

Matthias Gelber comes from Burbach-Lippe, a small German village surrounded by the forest. He developed a strong connection with nature from a young age, and has been a passionate advocate of green living ever since. In 2008, he was voted ‘Greenest Person on the Planet’ in an online competition by 3rdWhale in Canada. Matthias lived in Malaysia without a car and a monthly USD$10 electricity bill and is now mainly based in the Philippines. He also started Eco Warriors Malaysia, a community movement focused on taking positive action to combat climate change. She has established the Sustainability Department, managing certification such as ISO 14001, ISO 9001, Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) and Eco Label. She has additional expertise in eco-conception, life cycle analysis, carbon footprint calculation and integrated management processes. The company’s first sustainability report (also her first report) had won the ACCA Malaysia Sustainability Reporting Award (MaSRA) 2013 and 2014 – Commendation Sustainability Report in SME. She is also a MIM-ARM Certified Professional CSR Manager and Green Industry Auditor. In 2016, she is recognized as National Industry Expert and Panel NOSS (National Occupational Standard Scheme) of Environment by Ministry of Human Resources Malaysia.
